Choose Well,

             Feel Well,

                         Be Well ...

...From the Inside Out.

I was born and raised on a farm in Small Town, USA, taught the advantages of hard work, and groomed from a young age to be very co-dependent.  You know...taking care of everything and everyone else before self.  (Taking care of self is just plain selfish and downright un-Christian, right?)

I've been involved with traditional 12-step both as an Al-Anon (the co-dependent) and an addict (food was my drug of choice).  Don't get me wrong, I've seen the 12 Steps help many people!  Yet, I also have seen people "white-knuckle" and/or relapse even after years of being in program.  That frustrates me.

My search for what works for everyone brought me to Robert G. Smith and Eutaptics.  I am a reliable and experienced Eutaptics Certified Advanced Practioner who specializes in working with individuals who are ready to be well and free from what entangles them.  I help my clients understand that they are not broken, only successfully producing an undesirable outcome.  You are incredibly designed to survive, but the coping skills that were crucial at one time, not only are no longer serving you, but enslaving you.  Let me help you develop a way to let go of the stress, the trauma, the issues that stand in the way of living the life you were created to live.

Mind-Body Connection

What goes on in the mind is always reflected in some way in the body—this phenomenon is known as the mind-body connection and has spawned an entire field of therapy known as mind-body medicine.  Clinical research has revealed a high correlation between uncleared developmental and adult traumas and the onset of physical and emotional illnesses, evidence of a mind-body connection.  For example, people who experienced early childhood mind and body traumas were far more likely to have serious illnesses in early adulthood than those who did not suffer from such traumas.

Stress is associated with most of our illnesses, indicative of this mind-body connection. Although a 2012 study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association found that 60 to 80 percent of illnesses reported to primary care doctors may have a stress component, stress is more likely a factor in at least 80 to 90 percent of such cases. Emotional and physical health issues to which stress has been linked sweeps across the body and mind spectrum, such as stomach issues; muscle aches and pains; joint and back problems; increased blood pressure; increased heart rate; higher cholesterol; increased risk of heart attack; mood problems such as anger, irritability, depression, panic, and anxiety; headaches; low energy; lower bone density; loss of libido; and especially reduced immune response, which makes all illnesses, including cancer, more likely.

The Body is the Expression of the Mind

The body is the expression of the mind, it is what you hold to be true about yourself; these are created beliefs.  Therefore, that which is created/programmed can be changed.  Change the perception/programming and you change the belief that is expressed by the mind in the body.  You can change your life by learning how to let go of stress and trauma.  I can teach you how to let go and be well from the inside out.
